The 2008 fall marching season is packed full of action with many events including LISD Band Night, 10 regular season football games, football playoffs (?), 5 marching contests, and the potential to compete at the UIL State Marching Contest and much more. Brian and Michelle, Booster Vice Presidents are responsible for the chaperones at all events and welcome your participation. Hey, with gas at $4 a gallon, riding to the games and contests on a yellow dog never looked so good!
The excitement of Texas high school football is in the air, and that means our very talented marching band will be on the move beginning August 29th. Even greater excitement begins on October 4th when the Timberwolf band has the season's first competitive performance of the field production "On Edge" at BOA-Arlington.
Chaperones have been assigned based on the information you completed at registration. Please check your assignments, and email vice-president@cphsband.org if you need to decline any assignment. Do not trade assignments with a friend or spouse. In case your name is not on a date that you requested, you area on the "standby" for that date in the event of a cancellation or you may be scheduled in the second half of the season.
Chaperones ride on the buses with the band; work in the stands with the band and remain with the band until dismissal upon return to the high school. Only chaperones, students and staff are permitted on the buses with the band or to sit with the band. Generally, all chaperones will need to meet in the band hall for a pre-game briefing by 5:30 so we can be ready to board the buses for an on-time departure. Prior to each game/event chaperones will be notified of their report time via email. All chaperones must be an approved LISD volunteer.

Bob will be with the trailer, so come find him sometime before halftime and he will give you a Pit Pack badge that will allow you to get onto the field. The usual procedure for moving instruments at a game is:
Pit Pack Volunteer schedule
- Meet near end zone where the pit has assembled at approximately 5 minutes left in the half.
- Once there, you will be assigned an instrument to move or a band member to assist.
- At the appointed time, we will assist the band in moving the instruments/equipment onto the field. The kids know where the equipment/instruments belong, so they can direct you.
- Enjoy the performance!
- When the band is finished, help move the instruments/equipment back to the assembly point.
