Schedule for Relief Tent:

Please be aware that younger siblings are not allowed in the relief tent area.

Notes for Relief Tent Workers:

I've had some problems keeping clean towels in the relief tent and the wet ones seem to disappear. I would like to have relief workers bring several small towels (dish towel size) with them to the relief tent and then take them home afterwards. If that is OK with everyone, it is a plan that seems to keep clean towels around. However, if you do use one of the towels in the bag, please put it into the bright green bag that should be attached to the med bag. I'll take those towels home with me and I'll make sure that they get back clean.

You should receive two containers of water and one with ice. We've been going through more than the two jugs every practice because the kids need to have their water jugs refilled during practice. Talk to the leaders if one of the relief tent jugs is out of water. The leaders are filling band member's water jugs. Please help them if can.

The wider and shorter jug is for ice. There should be a bottle of Gatorade in the ice. The kids should have primarily water but there are times when Gatorade will come in handy. There should also be some Gatorade in the bag if the boys don't put some in the ice for you. The band was very impressive last week. Although it was extremely hot we had only a few kids who came to the tent for heat problems. We did use quite a few band-aids. I put extras in the second bag.

Please sign in as volunteers in the green binder. When kids arrive at the relief tent, please immediately begin to fill out the log (green binder). Please make sure to ask them if they've taken any medications. Offer them water if they are dehydrated and put a damp towel or ice bag on the back of their necks if they are overheating. If you are going to give them any medication (over the counter only), make sure that you are allowed to do so by checking their name on the band member list in the same green binder. Look for a "Y" in the OTC column. Band-aids and other supplies can be found in the med bag. Take a look at what is there before the kids arrive, if at all possible.

Please do check the band member's name of the summary list in the green binder and make sure that they don't have any medical conditions before treating them.

If you ever have a question, please do not hesitate to call me on my cell phone 658-3600. My contact information is in the green folder. If you are missing any supplies or if anything unusual happens during the relief tent, please let me know that also.
