Scholarship Information and Requirements

The Cedar Park Band Boosters are accepting applications from senior band and guard members for one year scholarship awards in the amount of $500.00 each. The Cedar Park Band Boosters have established funding for a limited number of non-renewable scholarships to be awarded to senior band members on a competitive basis. Scholarships are awarded to those students who have made significant contributions to the Cedar Park High School Band and who will continue post-secondary education.

Eligibility Requirements

  1. The student must be a senior who is presently a member of the band or color guard.
  2. The student must be an active, contributing member of the band, participating not only in daily classes, but also concerts, solo performances, ensembles, and any other competitions (i.e., Winter Guard, Indoor Theater, etc.).
  3. The student must have maintained a minimum cumulative grade point average of 80% through his/her first 3 ˝ years of high school. In the presence of overwhelming accomplishments in music and band leadership, applications with a cumulative grade point average of less than 80% will be considered.
  4. A letter of acceptance or a copy of the signature page of the student's application for admission should accompany this application. If these are not available, attach whatever documentation you feel demonstrates your intent to attend a college or university (i.e., a personal letter describing your situation). Proof of full-time enrollment from an accredited college/university must be submitted by no later than May 1st of the year following graduation to receive scholarship funds.

Applications must be postmarked no later than April 1st.

Recipients of the scholarship(s) will be named at the CPHS Band's Spring Awards Banquet, but monies will be released from the Band Boosters only upon demonstration of the designees fulfilling all the requirements noted above. This will typically be in September following graduation.

Failure to meet the requirements of the scholarship award will result in the monies being returned to the Band Booster Scholarship Account.
