Head Director, Honors Band Director
Steve Wessels is in his second year as the Director of Bands at Cedar Park High School. Since his appointment in 1998 as an Associate Director, the Cedar Park High School Band has received Sweepstakes honors at University Interscholastic League. In 1999 the band placed (8th) in the 4A Texas State Marching Band Contest. In 2001 the band was the 4A Texas State Marching Band Champion. In 2004 the band was the Silver Medallist in the 5A Texas State Marching Band Contest. Over the years the band has won the Westlake Marching Contest, The Carrollton Marching Contest, The Duncanville Marching Contest and has placed in the finals of BOA Regionals and Super Regionals of Texas. The Concert Bands have been successful in all UIL Concert / Sight Reading Contests earning Superior ratings. Mr. Wessels is a woodwind specialist. He is also an accomplished pianist. Schools he attended were Angelo State University, Texas Lutheran University and Texas Christian University. He has taught for 19 years at every level of band directing in public schools. He has taught in Shamrock, Texas (Panhandle of Texas), Galena Park, Texas (Houston), Spring Branch ISD (Houston) and Cedar Park, Texas. Mr. Wessels holds a bachelors degree from Texas Lutheran University and is a member of the Texas Music Educator's Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, Texas Music Adjudicator's Association and Kappa Kappa Psi Band Fraternity. |

Symphonic Band, Jazz Ensemble and Marching Director
Jeremy Spicer, the Associate Director of Bands at Cedar Park (Texas) High School, is the Conductor of the Symphonic Band and the Director of both the Marching and Jazz Ensembles. During his tenure at Cedar Park he has led the Timberwolf Marching band to much success. Such honors include being recognized as a consistent top 10 finalist at every Bands of America event attended and numerous invitational championships. In 2004, the band was recognized with the Silver Medal at the 5A-State Marching Band Contest. The Symphonic band has been a consistent sweepstakes recipient. Jeremy has been very active in DCI. He began his drum corps career playing mellophone in the Santa Clara Vanguard. Since his age out year, Mr. Spicer has been a member of the brass staffs of the Santa Clara Vanguard, Boston Crusaders, Southwind, and the Carolina Crown, where he has served in various capacities ranging from Brass Instructor to Assistant Brass Caption Head. Mr. Spicer is active in the United States as a clinician and adjudicator. His professional affiliations include Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. He lives in Leander with his beautiful wife Elizabeth, baby girl, Coral, and their beautiful baby boy, Aiden. |

Concert Band Director
Bob Chreste started his first year as Associate Director at Cedar Park High School in 2006 school year. He is the director of the Concert Band. Mr. Chreste received his Bachelor's degree in Music Education from the University of Houston and his Masters degree in Conducting from Sam Houston State University. While at Sam Houston, Bob was the graduate teaching assistant for the wind ensemble and the marching band. Aside from being a very talented saxophonist, Mr. Chreste has also become an accomplished euphonium player. He marched with the world champion, Cadets of Bergen County Drum and Bugle Corps, for three years (1996-1998). More recently, he spent a year and a half as a conductor and performer with the Tony and Emmy Award winning musical, Blast! Mr. Chreste has worked with many marching bands across Texas, as well as bands in Indiana and Oklahoma. Currently, he spends his summers on the brass staff of the Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps based out of Fort Mill, South Carolina. Mr. Chreste is a member of the Texas Music Educators Association and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. |

Guard Director
Nhu Q. Trinh grew up in the Dallas area and made her way through central Texas to end up in Austin in the summer of 2004. She graduated from R. L. Turner High School in Carrollton, TX and continued her education at Southern Methodist University in Dallas and Texas A&M University-Commerce in Commerce, TX. She was a member of the R. L. Turner HS Band, SMU Mustang Band, and the TAMU-C Marching Band. In 2001, she completed her Bachelor of Science Degree in Music at TAMU-C in flute performance while maintaining her participation in the colorguard activity. Throughout her music career she performed with the SMU Wind Ensemble and Symphony Band, TAMU-C Wind Ensemble, The North East Texas Symphony, The Texas Wind Symphony, and The Metropolitan Winds. She was also a member of various colorguard groups including her high school and college guards which led to marching the Blue Knights Drum & Bugle Corps out of Denver, CO in 2000. Nhu's winterguard experiences expanded to Nolan Independent World Winterguard in 2002, 2004 and most recently Code Black Independent World Winterguard for the 2008 season. Nhu's teaching experience began early and continued to grow into a diverse portfolio ranging from a cadet winterguard to drum corps and an independent winterguard. Most notably are Revolution Drum & Bugle Corps (2002 DCI Div III Champions, 2003 Div II DCI finalist) and Revolution Independent Open Winterguard (2004-2005 WGI finalist) out of San Antonio, TX; Lewisville HS Colorguard (2003 TX State UIL Marching Band finalist) in Lewisville, TX; Mansfield HS in Arlington, TX; United HS down in Laredo, TX; and many more programs across the state of Texas. |
